Here is another point where Truth stands Clear from error. In Islam, between 2 to 5 % of your income goes directly to the poor, which can include a relative. It has been calculated that 3% of the wheat in the world would feed all the starving people. This system of the Believer to hand the 3% directly to the poor is the solution. Also another benefit from giving the money directly to the poor as prescribed in Islam, you can connect with the people in need. You can enjoy and share in their happiness when you help them.
In Christianity, 10% of your entire Income, goes to the so-called 'non-profit' organization called the Church. This is named "Tithing" and the Church claims that the Bible backs up this 10% donation, even though Jesus taught also to give your money to the poor.
"Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven" (Matthew 19:21)
Paul continually changed the words of Jesus, instead of giving money to the poor as Jesus taught, Paul wrote in the Gospel; "In the same way the Lord has given orders that those who preach the Gospel should be supported by those who accept it." ( I Corinthians 9:13-14)
This is a false claim by Paul, no where in the Bible does Jesus or God command to give money to those who preach the Gospel, though unfortunately the church obeys Paul more than Jesus or God.
The difference between the Church and Islamic charity is that large amounts of money are left with individuals in Christianity, therefore opening the opportunity for corruption.
As we see recently, the Christian Rev. Henry Lyons, President of the National Christian Baptist Convention, USA, was convicted of racketeering and grand theft on charges of swindling millions of dollars from Christian companies seeking to do business with his followers.
This is of course a extreme case but what is common among Christian Churches while absent among Islamic Mosques is that the Ministers in Christianity take a salary for themselves which averages over $30,000 a year.
While in Islam, the Ministers consider preaching the words of Allah, a reward in itself.

There are many Christians like myself who do not beleive in churches.
I have always said that (most) churches are only interested in bringing you to church not to god. They say they are bringing you to god through Christ but just try disagreeing with them on any point and you see their true motive. "come to our church and beleive our interpretation of the bible".
Jesus came to set us free from all this stuff. The scribe and pharases of his time have appeared again as the pastors and leaders of our modern church.
But Why? Simple. If I were the devil and I wanted to turn people from God. I would get men to create churches claiming to honour God, but have them acting in a strange way (hypocrytical). This way the common man and woman would say; "if this is God, I want nothing to do with it". The problem is the church is not God.
God lives in our hearts. If you have a true intent to do good then seek him in everything you do. Ask for his guidance in everything you do. And his truth will set you free.
I've heard, seen and realize that most churches nowadays are using churches as a 'money-making opportunity' centre...

Dunno this is good enough for you...of course you get variegated models of arguments, but try to pick up some good ones presented. It is a discussion on the person of Jesus started by a sceptic/agnostic.
Anyway, I have read some of Syeikh Deedat's booklets and heard him debate a Christian pastor once. Also I have some encounter with Bro. Shah Kirit whose style and argument modelled after Syeikh Deedat's (I heard Bro. Shah was a student of his). Theirs were well-articulated arguments, but frankly speaking, I am not convinced just yet. I am not converting you to Christianity here, just hope you will realize that Christianity is not as stupid as some tries to portray it to be. I believe most if not all of these accusations come from ill-informed sources.
May God bless you on your quest for the Truth.

call us fools for the matter.. (",)
of course we can just give 3% to the
needy.. but theres no guarantee
of it reaching them..!
(we christians aren't perfect..
just forgiven.. we're still learning!
my church has orphanages, disabled homes
and the sort.. so its more of a
safer way to get money to the poor..
(we have to be street smart anyways..
can't simply give our money here
and there.. and some people may take
advantage of our generosity..
thus church owned charities are the
safest / best guarantee of $$ transfer
well..tithes are an obligation..
but we are to give it.. out of our
Love for Him =P
cause if we give it just for the sake
of giving it.. we don't learn anything
from it.. (don't learn to Love God
& to be Obedient.. to trust Him wholly
of course we are more than welcome
to give back to Him more than just 10%
=P
God gave us everything.. so what is
giving back at least 10% out of love?
(and since He knows everything..
He will know whether we can survive on
90% of our salary.. *but its up to us
to budget properly ! ^^"
oh.. back to giving our tithes to
the church.. part of it goes to
"full time workers.." (as u said)
(Pastor, Reverend, Youth Worker etc)
*working in church 100% for that
matter* well.. God doesn't plant a money
tree in their garden for them..
so we are to support / bless them..
(as they feed our Spirit beings..
we in return meet their physical needs..
and about all the churches /
individuals who don't put the money
to good use?.. God will deal with
them at His own time =P
(He's a loving God.. He gives us the
time to decide whether or not we'll
admit the wrong ourselves and face
the music.. or should He expose it)
*oOpS*.. but here is just my 2 cents
or rambling.. =P
nice of you to bring up these issues!
i mean like.. you could be the one
to start of a revival within the
christian community !
(we need a good / big wake up call!)
however i've gotta ask..
christianity has 2 branches..
each have their own set of problems..
and i don't think its right to critisize
both together at once..
since i for 1 do not believe in
the teachings of the Vatican..
*marriage is for anyone! =P
(depends whether God has prepared them
to live alone, or with someone else..
but however.. i've gotta use the time
God has given to me more wisely..
and thus i shall end my argument..!
*theres more to life than religious debates =P
would love to hear any views on this matter
*still learning* - 7th from Adam..
templarz_07@yahoo.com
oh ! on behalf of the christian community..
please forgive us for the atrocities
we have done centuries ago in the name
of Crusades / religious battles..
we have misused the name.. and well..
we're just human.. we make LOTS of mistakes..
>< we're very far from perfect..
(neither will we ever claim to be)
we just want to be better persons..
to be a blessing to all walks of life =)
sounds too idealistic ?
"Love your neighbour as you love yourself..
but above that Love the Lord ^^
christians aren't perfect..
we're just forgiven.. =P
*hope i didn't overstep any boundaries
or said things i shouldn't have said..
*my apologies in advance for my mistakes*
*oOpS*... ciaoz !
Subhanallah, jzk sister for your efforts. I clearly see the rationality and truth in Islam as apposed to the contradictions and irrationality in Christianity.
"Behold! In the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alteration of night and day, these are indeed signs for men of understanding" [Aali-Imran: 190]
